Is Fortnite Set to be Bigger Than Pokémon-Go? – The Secrets Behind Mobile Game Revolutions

I can guarantee every other reader here has heard of Fortnite, the console game taking over gamers lives, but is the Battle Royale game ready to match Pokémon Go?

Let’s date back to July 2016, when the long-anticipated Pokémon Go was finally released. It rolled out and made an instant impact, gathering millions outdoors. The main markets to emerge were your typical teenagers, who generally swapped their consoles to jump onboard. Then there were the adults, typically in their late 20s, early 30s who were indulging into ultimate nostalgia, dating them back to the game’s origins back on the Gameboy.

Within the first day, sales had already surpassed between $4-$5 Million and from then until now, over 5% of all mobile devices globally had installed the game.

The game did come with many cases of crimes and incidents however, such as armed robberies or accidental injuries and deaths. One story circled about a group of four teenagers who lured players into an empty parking lot to rob them.

This crime was obviously punished by officers, however the app offered as a strong loophole for these kinds of crimes. Players are sucked into their phones and a half-aware of their surroundings.

Now a new story is set to come in the shape of Fortnite Mobile, with the game already proving itself to be as popular as the likes of Call of Duty and Minecraft.

Fortnite is basically a sandbox game set in contemporary earth, where a worldwide storm has rid of 98% of the population. Zombie creatures then arise to attack the remaining survivors, in groups of four, players must collect resources, build forts and construct weapons to survive as a team.

In the early access period of 2017, the game was ranked the 2nd best Battle Royale (Free-to-play), and the 3rd best survival game of the year. By the following January 2018, Fortnite had racked up over 50 million players.

It’s no wonder reporters are interested as to how high the game will peak on mobile, as the advertisements are almost the same as the console version, and the same scenarios/strategies are to be held onto on the new platform.

I’d recommend trying out the game if you haven’t already, no matter what your age, it is the perfect mix between Minecraft and Left 4 Dead, and although extremely addictive, it’s just as fun as how you’d remember Pokémon/Pokémon Go in the past!
